Food for Thought
Have you ever noticed that eating certain foods will make you tired? I am sure you have. I have been a lot more concious about the foods I eat lately, especially those that I eat for lunch. My nickname, in some circles, is, "The Deliman." I should probably not be publicizing this, but who cares. The fact of the matter is, I love sandwiches and that is partially why I hold that name. But, having a nice big sando for lunch is pretty much a giant sleeping pill for me if I am going to be working or attempting to think for the rest of the afternoon. So, I have been making a point to eat much lighter (volume of food and types of food) at lunctime. It is pretty amazing what a difference it has made in how much energy I have. Eating a bowl of soup for lunch is a heck of a lot more satisfying than I could have ever imagined. Did I mention I am 6'4" and weigh about 215? Yeah, and a bowl of soup will fill me up. It is pretty amazing. But, more than feeling full, I can function. I can think clearly and not get tired.
So, leave the pizza and pasta for dinner. Don't eat a turkey club for lunch with a side of fries...unless it is Saturday and you need a nap.
